Countdown 3 Dollywood Treats I Tried

Countdown 3 Dollywood treats I tried over this past weekend with me as I rank them from good to my absolute favorite!

HOW WE ENDED UP AT DOLLYWOOD

We ended up being gifted a Dollywood annual membership this year and it’s been one of the most exciting and fun weekend/day trip activities I’ve done in a while! Especially as a Tennessee native it’s really neat having such a special park like Dollywood under 4 hours anyway. It’s a road trip that my one year-old and three year-old can manage without going insane or needing iPads actually!

THE 3 TREATS

I tried not to go too crazy but you know I had to try as much as I could!

Number 3: Potato Tornado

Located at: Rivertown Junction

This one was interesting. It had been on my bucket list to try it for a while and I watched them fry it up in the back so I was excited, that it was going to be nice and fresh… Boy it definitely was piping hot when I received it. I actually think I unexpectedly waited a bit too long to try it because it ended up cooling off super fast and was almost cold by the time it ended up tasting it, but it made sense because when I bit into it it was a lot thinner than I had expected, and there wasn’t a bunch of potato “meat” like I expected.

It was actually pretty similar to a crunchy potato chip. I’ve been in a super fries craving lately so I was slightly disappointed because of that, but it was still tasty and I would totally get it again. I’ll probably try the hotdog version next! Overall, I put at number three because I was hoping for more substance from it.l, but i definitely recommend you trying it, especially if you like potato chips which can m pretty sure most of us do!

Number 2: Frozen Lemonade

Located at: Showstreet Frozen Lemonade

They have quite a few slushies around the park, but my favorite are from a stand at the front of the park where you first walk in on your right (in the Showstreet Area) called Showstreet Frozen Lemonade. I personally like the ones from this stand better because they taste less fake and less sugary than your typical slushee. I will say if you get a flavored one (I tried the strawberry one) it was definitely more artificially flavored tasting than if you were to just get the plain lemonade which I will probably stick with from now on! Here you can see them both pictured below.

Number 3: Sweet Shoppe Treats (The Cheesecake!)

Located at: Sweet Shoppe Candy Kitchen

Located essentially right next door to the Showstreet Frozen Lemonade Stand you have the Sweet Shoppe. My big thing when I go on vacations, especially Gatlinburg is confectionery/chocolate shops. See the photo below for a little spread of what I got. When I walked in I looked at the case while waiting for my turn and decided on four things that are pretty typical for me to order: s’mores truffle, chocolate covered marshmallow, chocolate covered Oreo (which was molded into a pretty lavender colored flower shape for the Flower and Food festival), and salted caramel chocolate fudge. When it was my turn, the lady helping me at the counter suggested their frozen chocolate covered cheesecake (on a stick).

My husband had been craving cheese cheesecake recently. I went back-and-forth and eventually thought you know what why don’t we just try it! When I got home and took my first bite, I immediately knew it was the best decision I had made all day to get that cheesecake haha. My husband was very happy as well 😆. To be honest, everything was delicious and worth getting! I will say, though that the cheesecake is what put it over the top and made it number one!

Final order

  1. Tornado Potato
  2. Frozen Lemonade (Classic & then strawberry)
  3. Sweet Shoppe: s’mores truffle, sea salt caramel fudge, chocolate covered marshmallow, white chocolate covered Oreo, chocolate covered cheesecake

I linked the park map here since the dining pages linked above for each treat doesn’t include a map to find each shop.
