Listing off my must try food & drink list from my most recent visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom!
As an avid foodie, I must try all the most talked about food wherever I go! I also love to discover underrated new eateries and coffee shops. Well this trip folks just so happens to be Disney! We crashed grandma and grandpa’s trip to Magic Moonlight at Animal Kingdom. Magic moonlight is a party for DVC members (Disney Vacation Club). It happens after park hours and they usually will close down the park a little early to clear out park goers from the day. They offer free select treats and eats from their different restaurants and set up little ice cream stands all around the park.
As for the rides, lines are low often leading to 5-10 minute wait times! Unless we’re talking about the Dinosaur ride. Unfortunately it had a couple break downs the night we were there leading to a long wait the first time we got in line. The second time we tried to get in line, thankfully it was a short wait time (almost a walk on). The ride was awesome, but after it completed we got stuck on the ride for 10 minutes, just hanging out locked in our seat belts, just one car away from getting off during another break down of the ride. But worth it because you know we were able to get our last ride in before they close it down to change it to Indiana Jones Feb 26th 2026! Which I’m also very much so looking forward to.
Ok so on to the food review!
Mangkwan Mousse (Pandora, Satu’li Canteen)
A dessert with caramelized banana cake, cinnamon milk chocolate mousse, banana sesame caramel and a chocolate sesame crumble on the side.

This mousse is as good, but interesting! I didn’t get much banana or sesame flavors. The quality and artwork of the dessert, i mean come on, top notch artistry right there! I did get lots of chocolate flavors, but with an underlying bite or date or raisin maybe? Something I recognized, but struggled to place. Definitely worth a try.
Pongu Lumpia (Pandora, Satu’li Canteen)
A spring roll filled with pineapple chunks and cream cheese.

This one was very one note for me. I love cream cheese and pineapple. The actual pineapple bits are what made it for me. I wanted like a spice of cinnamon or something to offset all the one note flavors of the spring roll. Overall it wasn’t bad! But I didn’t need the whole thing. I’d also say ours wasn’t as toasty as I’ve seen in some other images. I think if it was browned a bit more it would of made it a bit more tasty!
Night blossom slush (Pandora, Pongu Pongu)
A slushee with apple and desert pear limeade layers, topped with yellow boba balls (I believe they’re passionfruit flavored).

Across the street in Pandora land was the item I had my heart set on the whole night: a boba slush! They almost always have some sort of boba slushee to look forward to here and I live for it. It was very sweet but addicting! I got help from the crew to finish it, and made sure to finish off every boba ball myself that was left over. Which tasted like (and I believe I over heard from a cast member) were passionfruit flavored.
Black garlic, truffle & parm fries (DinoLand U.S.A., Restaurantosaurus)
Classic french fries with a black garlic and truffle aioli topped with shredded parmesan and parsley.

You can get them at a couple other spots around the park. We found ours at Restaurantosaurus. These were yummy and so fun to eat. The truffle was prominent and I absolutely love and appreciated that! The sauce wasn’t bad, could have been a slightly higher quality, but these still didn’t last long at all. Not a fry left behind!
Whether I like the food or not, it’s so fun to try the creative food and drink options Disney comes up with. You’re an allowed to bring in your own food and drink (minus alcohol) into the parks which is amazing especially for little ones who rely on their favorite snacks to stay sane throughout the day. Might I suggest my pistachio bites for a lovely and energizing treat option through out the day! I also love them for plane and car travel too. Just make ahead and have a fresh healthier option to keep you going.
