A sweet garlic chili dressing that’s versatile and tastes delicious on numerous Asian dishes!
I love this dressing. It’s packed full with just layers of flavor and sooo easy to make: blend and you’re done! With only 6 ingredients you’ll be coming back for more! Use as a marinade, add on Asian salad, you can also use it on rice bowls! Any homemade dressing that isn’t given additives so it can live on a store shelf longer is a win!
I know mirin isn’t the most common household ingredient. You can use honey and it tastes amazing too! Mirin you can grab at nearly any grocery store as well.
I have ginger powder that I tend to keep at home, but if you would like to use fresh ginger, please feel free! I suggest about a 1- 1 1/2 inch knob of ginger in diameter per teaspoon.
I think fresh garlic is the best for dressings. I in particular like to use them because of their more potent garlicky flavor that just tends to show up better in dressings. There's no extra steps with grating the garlic either. It's super easy just to blend up! If you want to use garlic powder, go ahead. Sometimes it's just what you have and easier depending on your situation. Start with approximately one teaspoon. 1 teaspoon equals one garlic clove. Add more to taste if you would like.
Making your own dressing can save a trip to the grocery store and even cut down on driving time emissions for you and the delivery of a store bought product. It’s honestly worth it for the fresh flavors alone! I personally haven’t seen anything quite like it at the store.
NOTE: I want to make your cooking process as seamless as possible! I design the steps in a multitasking format to ensure efficiency and to save your precious time! I do suggest to read each individual step in full before completing them. SOMETIMES I add tips or notes towards the middle or end that are helpful to know beforehand.
They are: 1/4 cup mirin, 1/2 teaspoon ginger powder, 1 garlic glove, 4 cracks pepper, 1 teaspoon chili paste, 1 tablespoon soy sauce
It's really that simple! I do recommend chopping up your garlic clove a bit though it's not neccessary. It just helps it blend up easier. It's also something to keep an eye out for while blending. I recommend blending for 30-40 seconds give or take depending on your blender.

Drizzle the sauce over grilled chicken veggie bowls!
If you’re looking for some other great sauces that can go with almost anything. I suggest my chipotle aïoli or chive cream cheese sauce
As far as other dinner options, I’d like to suggest my easy enchilada skillet and zucchini lasagna with my 15 minute homemade marinara sauce!
It’ll keep in the fridge for approximately two weeks, use it as you wish on salads and multiple dinners! You can pretty much keep salad dressing in anything. My favorite has been glass jars that I can just easily shake up when I go to use the dressing!
Thank you so much for choosing one of my recipes to cook today! I hope you enjoy the cooking process. I love to hear any and all recipe suggestions. Please reach out to me for any questions or comments! :)
